The influx of social media has helped enhance the activities of citizen vigilantes in the country. You can reach as many citizens as possible at the comfort of your home and express and pour out your frustrations about events in the country. Consequently, there has been the emergence of numerous social media activists who take advantage of the platforms to critic the government and put it's on its toes. One of such individuals is Kelvin Taylor.
Yesterday September 22, the pro-NDC social media journalist, on his Loud Silence TV Show, inter alia, bemoaned the activities of senior citizens who served in various capacities under the Kuffour-led administration for sitting on the fence about some major flows in the Nana Addo government; meanwhile, these same senior citizens were very vocal and critical during Mahama's regime. For instance, he expressed his displeasure about an answer given by the former Chief Justice under Kuffour's regime, Mr. Mpiani on Citi FM about whether Nana Addo is running a family and friends government or not. In an interview with Accra-based Citi FM, Mr. Mpiani said the family and friends government under Nana Akuffo Addo may be true.
To Kelvin, Mr. Mpiani should have been emphatic since the family and friends' government under Nana is so clear. " When you say may it's a 50/50 thing here, even a twelve-twelve-year-old knows Akuffo Addo is running a family and friends government. You people are not honorable again", he said
He added that if things continue the way they are, the military will be tempted to protect themselves and the good citizens of Ghana by taking over the country. He stressed that if the president does not sit up, he will travel outside one day and the government will be overtaken as they did to Nkrumah. "One day he will go out there and they will call him like the way they called Kwame Nkrumah and say that the soldiers have taken over the country", Kelvin cautions.
