Politics in Ghana has now turned into something else. Currently, politicians see the field of politics as a lucrative business venture. Thus, they do everything possible to be elected into power. Hypocrisy is one key feature they exhibit during campaign periods. Consequently, their approach to citizens change immediately they obtain power.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana. He was spotted bowing down before Speaker of Parliament, Right Honorable Alban Bagbin in a photo that has been circulating on social media. This photo was taken when top political stalwarts from both major political parties stormed the funeral of the sister of Majority leader in Parliament, Minister for Parliamentary affairs and Member of Parliament for the Suame constituency, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu. See photo.
In attendance to the funeral were Afenyo Markins, Andrew Asiamah Amoako, Annoh Dompreh, Dr. Bawumia, Asiedu Nketsiah, amongst others.
The question that I ask myself was that, " Bawumia bowing down to Speaker Bagbin, was it a sign of reverence or hypocrisy?"
