They know Nothing about security - Lawyer Maurice Ampaw lectures government appointees and MPs

The sadden death of the member of Parliament for the Mfatseman constituency, Hon Ekow Quansah has raised a lot of security concerns in the country. Where most Ghanaians are urging the government to enforce security in the country as we draw closer to the general elections.

The report suggests that the Honorable member of Parliament was murdered in cold blood by some unknown gunmen on his way home from a campaign tour. He was killed together with his driver in an NPP branded car.

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, a private legal practitioner has given his comments on this sad incident and its a controversial one of course. The outspoken legal practitioner was asked by the host of the program 'Mmra ne Abrabo mu nsɛm' on Wontumi television, why our member of parliaments and government appointees are always at risk during every election period?

He replied by saying the increase in murder cases involving our MPs and most government appointees is as a result of ignorance on their part. He said they know nothing when it comes to how to ensure their own security.

He later on suggested that there is no need need providing police convoy to these MPs where ever they go, since even in the presence of the police, these murders can still strike.

He therefore advised them not to always inform their kids of where they will be going in a particular day since kids are ignorant and for that matter can disclose their whereabouts to strangers when they are asked.

He also advised them to change their locations on regular intervals, and shouldn't sleep at one place continuously since it will make it easy for these murderers to locate them. He sited the murder of the late honorable JB Danquah as a case study.

"The best security you can have is by being self conscious and vigilante", he concluded.

Do you agree with the controversial lawyer on his take about ensuring security for our MPs?
