Ghana's 8th parliament happens to be the most interesting one of all time.Though the country has witnessed a number of parliament but this particular one is interesting for a lot of reasons.For a first time in a long time the speaker of parliament was chosen from the minority in parliament.
The night of the election,a lot happened that made Ghanaians worried but the man is question has been doing what is required of him not what is needed from him.Though he came from the position party but he is delivering like an independent man.
The speaker of parliament threatened to reject the 2021 budget .This is because the estimate by the legislature and the judiciary was slashed by the presidency.The majority leader in parliament has called the bluff of Alban Bagbin after his threat. According to him,the speaker have no power to reject their budget.
As a Ghanaian,what do you make of this? Do you think some people are working with party strings attached or it's all for the betterment of our economy. Thanks for reading.
