CJ to give political advantage to the NPP in the Speakership election - NDC alleges

We have just picked intel that the Chief Justice of Ghana, Anning Yeboah CJ, has just given a warrant to Justice Douglas Seidu, who was recently appointed by President Akufo Addo to the High Court, to go and sit in Tamale and grant an ex parte’ injunction order to restrain the NDC MP elect for the Savelugu Constituency from being sworn in on 7th January 2021.

Similar moves are being made to grant a warrant to Justice Kwesi Boakye to sit in Cape Coast and grant ex parte’ injunction orders against the NDC’s MPs elect for Cape Coast North and Assin North.

The CJ has had to resort to these warrant issuance because the courts are currently on vacation and will resume on the 11th of January.

This latest move by the CJ is a deliberate and desperate attempt to reduce the NDC’s numbers in Parliament in advance of the Speakership election in Parliament on 7th January, 2021.

This flagrant abuse of the discretionary powers of the CJ to give political advantage to the NPP in the Speakership election is shameful and must condemned by all well-meaning Ghanaians.

We are calling on all NDC supporters in Tamale and Cape Coast to rise up and resist this shameful attempt by the CJ to use his powers to manipulate the Speakership election for the NPP. Enough is enough!
