Govt can decide to go to Afghanistan, we do not care, all we want is E-Levy Scraped - Sammy Gyamfi

The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, who is also one of the leaders of the Arise Ghana Demo have said that they do not care whether the government will go to Afghanistan or International Monetary Fund (IMF) for support, all they want is the scraping of the E-Levy.

Speaking at Day two of the Arise Ghana demo, Sammy Gyamfi said the E-Levy is not a tax but thievery and Ghanaians cannot continue to pay.

“We are tired of paying the e-levy, it is not a tax it is thievery. We don’t care whether government will go to IMF or to Afghanistan".

Though his party has promised to scrap it when they come to power, Sammy says Ghanaians cannot pay the E-ley till 2024 and is therefore asking that government cancels its payment immediately.

“We cannot continue to pay e-levy until 2024. For now, we are dying, we can’t wait till 2024, the e-levy must be scrapped now".
