The Delimma of the 2022 Budget of Ghana

The Majority members had staged a walkout during parliamentary proceedings on Friday, November 26. But that did not cuase the speaker, Alban Bagbin to stop ruling on the motion before the house.

The speaker had given a five-minute break for the Majority of members to resume their seats. But after the time elapsed, Mr Bagbin ruled that the budget has been rejected after the members present overwhelmingly shouted ‘No’.

It’s at the back of the 2020 budget rejection that the BBC Ghana has been reliably informed that gov’t workers especially teachers to receive November salary in January due to the budget rejection.

The information was made known by one Poko Poko, a worker with one of the gov’t ministries.

This action of members of parliament would go a long way to affect the poor Ghanaian.

Ghanaians are appealing to the Maps to do their best to make sure the right thing is done.
