It was fireworks this evening as Captain Smart started his ‘The Smart Show’. Tonight, Friday, May 21, 2021 Captain Smart delved into Ghana’s wobbling financial predicaments. According to him President Akufo-Addo has surprised many with his actions. He noted that not many saw this coming.
According to Captain Smart, Ghana is rich and yet the standard of living is poor. He maintained that the Akufo-Addo government in its first 2 years has done more borrowing than any other government. He explained that this is terrible because the Vice President bragged that Ghana will not borrow unnecessarily.
“No government in Ghana has done this within 2 years of coming into power. President Akufo-Addo told us we are sitting on money and yet suffering. Bawumia, the economist also told us useless borrowing will not be done by the NPP. Yet, the NPP under Nana Addo in their first 2 years have borrowed more than any government. Nkrumah did not do this, Rawlings didn’t, Kufuor, Atta Mills and even Mahama did not do this.
Yet, my own NPP has done that. Check the records from the Finance Ministry to see if I am lying. This is not good. Everything is Ghana is now about borrowing. What a country Ghana has turned to. Why? Captain Smart queried.
