Some 245 Ghanaian living in Kuwait illegally will be deported to Ghana the government has announced. The deportees will arrive via a chattered flight at the cost of the Kuwaiti government. As Ghana's border's remain unopened to prevent importation of the coronavirus," the government of Ghana has granted a special permit for the admission of the said deportees to Ghana, " Information minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said at a press brief on Friday.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah said all the deportees will be mandatory quarantine and tested for the coronavirus upon arrival into the country. Those who will test positive for the virus will be given necessary treatment while those who will test negative will remain in quarantine for the second test to be conducted at the end of the 14-days quarantine period.
The cost of quarantine and treatment will be borne by the government he said.He assured that all safety measures would be taken in place to handle the deportees.
