GUM flagbearer's description of Bawumia is uncalled-for. He must retract and apologise.[OPINION]

He could have just be civil with his words, but no. The Presidential candidate for Ghana Union Movement (GUM) had thrown a plain word at the Vice President of the republic, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, calling him a 'big liar'.

In an interview by Joy Fm, monitored by this writer, the Flagbearer of GUM, Christian Kwabena Andrews popularly known as Osofo Kyere Abosom is accused Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of dishonesty.

"You see, Bawumia has lied and lied and lied, always lying, he keeps lying here and there" He said in the video which has since gone viral on social media.

Justifying his claim, he stated the promise of one village, one Dame and giving every household a borehole, which he said has not materialised.

Social media enthusiasts, known as Netizens, have reacted severally to the video. While some are hailing the Pastor, predictable, others are bashing him for the use of bad language in describing the second gentleman.

OPINION

In our candid view, in as much as many might understand where the Pastor is coming from, which is based on supposed failed promises, the use of insulting words in advancing one's argument is uncalled-for. More so, coming from a man who is supposed to be a man of God, and not an out-and-out politician.

Politics does not make us enemies, failed promises does not necessarily constitute an element of lying and elderly persons in this trade must show the way. The use of such words in our body polity must give way to a civil and healthy debates.

Osofo Kyere Abosom must retract and apologise to the Vice President and desist from such raw communication. Decorum and respect, especially to the office of the second gentleman, must at all times prevail in our political enterprise.
