Today, February 15, 2021 marked Day 15 of the hearing of the petition brought before the Supreme Court by Mr. John Dramani Mahama. Ghanaians saw interesting scenes and legal tussle between the Counsels for the petitioner and the Counsels for the Respondents.
The issue that took centre stage was the application filed by the Petitioner to be granted a leave to reopen his case and also seek a review of the Court's ruling. The lead Counsel for Mahama, Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata cited several precedent cases to back the petitioner's request to subpoena Jean Mensah.
In an attempt to impress the Panel, Tsatsu Tsikata mounted a strong legal defense for the application to be granted. Interestingly, the Counsels of the 1st and 2nd Respondents objected the application and argued that the application be dismissed.
The Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi constituency and Spokesperson for Akuffo Addo's legal team, Honourable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has made a bold statement and sent a strong message to Tsatsu Tsikata over his argument in Court today.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in a press briefing after the hearing, showered praises on the lead Counsels of both Respondents. According to him, he is confident that the Court will dismiss the Petitioner's request for the case to be reopened.
He said; "It cannot be that you then fail to meet the standards and seek to come through the backdoor that you should be allowed to compel the witness into the box. With the argument of them relying even on this argument to the affidavit, it cannot be true because you notice they applied for a review."

02-16 10:52:32You still can't answer why NDC won majority seats in parliament, why NDC is the Speaker of parliament and third ruler of the State. The outcome of the elections you also seam not to care because you still have a job that can feed you and your families but tsatsu cares, even if 7-9 justices do not care to know why an election in this age should lead to the death of 8 Ghanaians, Mahama cares to know. The architect and leader of this election must speak we want to know. We do not want our elections to be come acrimonious because Liberia, Cote dvoire, Togo and other west African countries are still recovering.
