Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Host Delegation From Brussels To Sign OACPS Agreement

The minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Mavis Hawa Koomson yesterday, 11/11/2021, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, witnessed the signing of the host country agreement for the 7th OACPS meeting of ministers in charge of Fisheries and Aquaculture.

The agreement was signed by by the Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Minister, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway and Ms. Cristelle Pratt, the Assistant Secretary General in charge of the Department of Environment and Climate Change.

The signing of the Agreement is a confirmation of Ghana’s acceptance and commitment to host the 7th OACPS meeting of Ministers in charge of fisheries and Aquaculture in Accra from the 5th to 8th April, 2022.

In a brief statement, Hawa Koomson reiterated the commitment of her ministry to continue to collaborate with the OACPS Secretariat, our Mission in Brussels and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration to ensure that Ghana successful host the Meeting next year.

Later in the Afternoon, the minister also led Ms Cristelle Pratt and some members of the planning committee to pay a courtesy call on the Chief of Staff of the Republic of Ghana, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei Opare at the seat of Government, the Jubilee House, to express their sincere gratitude for her commitment and unflinching support for Ghana’s bid to host the 7th OACPS Meeting in April.
