Ghana is losing future leaders - Opinion
People who are brought from the north daily to Accra, should be stopped at all cost and checked. The northerns who are seen to be having some supernatural strength are usually the most used people in this country as nothing checks the abuse they goes through. Just last year I went to Wa to telecast on a project a few friends had invited me to do. I found out that, these children who are brought to Accra, are either on their own peril or pay others to bring them. The family in the north will be either preparing them for marriage to an old man or an endowed man over his generosity he shown the girls family. Whether the girl will be happy or not, that is not checked.
I checked with over twenty cars that did the loading and mostly were containers. The container trucks which had either deliver goods from Kumasi or Accra, will be stationed at a place of meeting which was usually a mile away from the city, where the girls will rush and join it at night. The container leaves as soon as it takes everyone and brings them to kintampo or Brong Ahafo where they transit into sprinter buses and abandoned the container trucks.
This has been going on for over five six years now and nothing has been done to help the situation from escalating. The depression nature is the girl child trying to escape the hardship conditions of the north which is faced by force marriage and brought to Kumasi or Accra for another by force labour force When you visit these large markets is where you will find these young ones been deprived of education and basic amenities. They are been exploited by people who buy them head pans to use and carry loads without proper checks. We are losing our future leaders if the nation doesn't stop the child abuse of these northers.
