NDC Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu constituency who doubles as Minority Ranking Member, Honourable Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini has made a deep revelation about Kwame Nkrumah after debates about who is the actual founder of Ghana surfaced. The MP has refuted the claims promoted by the government that Nkrumah was not the only founder of Ghana.
Over the past weeks, the brouhaha surrounding the memorial day has been the most trending issue that has divided Ghanaians. The NPP government believes that the founder's day, which is September 21 of every year be changed to founders' day. However, NDC and other people who believed in Nkrumah's ideology have refuted the idea. According to political gurus, Nkrumah's effort in securing independence for Ghana transcended that of his colleagues.
Earlier today, Honourable Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini has indicated that Kwame Nkrumah is the only universally recognized founder of the modern Ghana. He stated in clear terms that no amount of arguments can take away the credit from Nkrumah as the NPP has instigated the agenda to wash away his legacies.
Speaking in an interview on Good Morning Africa show hosted by Sena Nombo, the lawmaker listed a number of facts to disprove the critics. He indicated that the National Democratic Congress will change the celebration of founder's day to make Nkrumah the single founder.
He said, "Kwame Nkrumah being the founder of Ghana is established beyond doubts. He remains the only founder. NDC is coming to change it back to the single founder that he is. I saw Nkrumah's status in Afghanistan in 1987 as a media person to cover the war. I was at a remote cover of Afghanistan where an old man asked where I am from. Immediately I said Ghana, the old man mentioned Nkrumah's name. I was really surprised."
