Parliament: Minority sides with aggrieved 499 law students, wants Godfred Odame ejected from office

fter refusing to allow the 499 suspected 'failed' Law students back into the school, the Minority has started a process to get the Minister for Justice, Godfred Odame removed from office.

They are of the view that the Attorney General has disrespected the Parliament by disobeying their order and needs to be punished for disrespecting the house and proceedings in Parliament.

According to their decision, Parliament has a say in this matter which is of national importance and their authority and input to rectify the long held notion of correcting some unpalatable issues and experiences at the Ghana School of Law should not be undermined in the manner the Minister has treated the House.

Mr. Haruna Iddrisu has stayed that the Minister, Mr. Odame and his office going contrary to this practice is tantamount to disrespecting the authority of the House and thus, Mr. Odame wants this canker to be a perpetual one.

The law students who demonstrated last month and in the beginning of the month submitted a petition to Parliament and it was received by the Minority leader, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu and he promised them that the issue will be looked into.
