The Speaker Has Been Compromised And He’s Delaying Sitting To Help The NPP-Kevin Taylor Jabs Bagbin

Outspoken American based Ghanaian broadcast Journalist, Kevin Ekow Badu Taylor has descending heavily on the Speaker of Parliament, Hohoe Alban Sumana Bagbin, for what in his opinion, is a deliberate attempt to delay parliamentary proceedings to favor the ruling NPP party.

He made this accusation today, November 26, 2021, during a “Breaking News” version of on his loud silence channel on Facebook.

Parliament is expected to make concluding comments on the budget today and proceed to pass a vote on it but sitting was suspended when proceedings was just about starting because the majority side of the house requested on the Speaker to give them 30 minutes to conduct a caucus meeting.

What is more curious is the fact that when the house convened to begin proceedings, not a single member of the majority was in the chamber and that forced the Speaker to grant the request.

Unfortunately, it has been well over an hour and the house has still not convened to continue with business of the day.

This, in Kevin Taylor’s view, is a ploy by the majority caucus and the Speaker to delay proceedings and wait on their members who are absent so that they would get the required numbers to be able to pass the budget.

Kevin Taylor alleges that the Speaker of Parliament has been compromised by the majority and he is doing everything possible to favor the government.

” It has been over 30 minutes and sitting has not resumed. Alban Bagbin knows what he is doing. He is in the books of the President and he is doing everything possible to make sure the budget is passed. This is the man John Mahama trusted so much that he endorsed him to be chosen as Speaker. The ordinary Ghanaian is very disappointed with him. He has always been pretending to be patriotic but he is not. He is deliberately wasting time so that anyone who is not available on the majority side can come and vote. He is a big disappointment” he reiterated among others.

There are mixed reactions in the public domain regarding the budget.

Meanwhile, members of “Fixthecountry” movement are currently demonstrating at the entrance to Parliament. They had wanted to enter the premises of Parliament but the Police stopped them contrary to earlier agreements with the Police Service. They intend to stay they until they are allowed to enter or heard.
