His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo embarked on a two-day tour of the Western Region. At the beginning of his tour, the president commissioned an eight-ton daily capacity natural rubber processing plant under the one district one factory program at Dompim in the Wassa East District of the Western Region. This is a $2 million project which is being managed by Natural Rubber Business Company (NARUBIZ).
His tour then took him to Shama to commission phase three of the Twyford-KEDA ceramic plant. The president who ended his two-day tour on Saturday 4th September visited Dixcove, Tarkwa, Bogoso, and Wassa Akropong.
In Dixcove, the president inspected ongoing work on the landing beach, a project which is expected to be completed in September 2022. He also cut sod for the construction of the 67-kilometer Agona Nkwanta-Tarkwa road, inspected work on the construction of Bogoso polyclinic, and paid a courtesy call on the chief of Wassa Akropong.
Sharing pictures of his tour of Facebook, many Ghanaians, especially those in the Western Region took to the comments section to pour out their frustration about the governance of the president. Some complained about the poor road infrastructure in the region, with others having issues with the general standard of living in the country at large.
These what people had to say about the post made by the president on his official Facebook page;
These reactions from the people are clear indications that though the president is doing his best to help solve the problems of the people in the country, there is still more to be done to reduce drastically the basic challenges confronting the people. Stricter measures must also be put in place to fight against corruption, thereby protecting the public purse.
What is your assessment of the level of development of the country?
