You can not break the 8 with Chairman Wontumi - Ben Ephson tells NPP.

Renowned pollster and the chief editor of the daily dispatch newspaper have come out with another salvo aimed at the ruling NPP. Before the Ashanti regional primaries of the party, Ben Ephson predicted that Bernard Antwi Boasiako was going to lose the elections based on the surveys he has conducted on the ground. But his prediction didn't see the light of day. Wontumi won the elections pretty comfortably. He defied all the odds and emerged victorious.

Following the victory of Wontumi, Ben Ephson is still insisting his predictions were right. Wontumi won the elections because he was able to manipulate the delegates with money. He went on to say that the NPP should forget about breaking the 8 with Chairman Wontumi beading the Ashamti region. He's basing his assertion on the fact that during his reign as chairman, NPP's dominance in the region shrunk from 76 per cent in the 2016 elections to 71 per cent in the 2020 elections. He also accused him of bad leadership in the region.

If the ruling government wants to break the 8, they should keep an eye on him. They will have to work thrice the amount they would have done without Wontumi as chairman. He also admonished those attacking him to check their facts well. He has always been accurate in his election predictions. That is what he is noted for.
