Pius Hadzide, former Deputy Minister of Information was at the center of some fraudulent Australian visas years ago. The opposition National Democratic Congress fingered him and called for his removal and prosecution. However not much was heard afterwards as no report was produced and yet Pius was declared innocent.
On TV3’s The Big Issue, Edward Bawa and Pius Hadzide joined Johnnie Hughes to discuss the current investigations regarding some ambulances purchased during the John Mahama led administration. One prominent NDC minister then implicated is Cassiel Ato Forson, the current NDC ranking member on Finance. According to Edward Bawa, it was worrisome that the Attorney General has chosen such a time to prosecute Ato Forson. It can be recalled that Cassiel has led a strong resistance against the E-levy.
Pius Hadzide however disagreed and said that as long as the person is on suspicion there was the need for investigations to go on. This got Johnny and Edward questioning what had happened to the visa racketeering scandal that Pius was involved in. According to Johnnie, Pius needs to clear his name especially after no report was produced after the findings.
Pius rebutted and maintained that the Police had vindicated him and noted that there is a report regarding that. Pius however couldn’t produce a report and insisted that anyone who still held on to the notion that he was guilty was just acting ignorant because there is evidence to show that he is innocent. He chided Johnnie for supporting Edward in wrongly accusing him and charged them to get the report and confirm that he was acquitted of all charges.
