The fight against illegal mining in the country has completely been lost, can you imagine a whole community collapsed their public toilet all because they suspect gold at the site and have turned the center of the town into mining site under the watch of chiefs, assemblymen and the District Chief Executive (DCE).
Some few years back Seven persons were been swallowed by galamsey pit in the same town, Akrokerri in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region, thinking this would have served as a deterrent to the miners not to bring their activities near the town.
Unfortunately the entire community are busy currently as we speak mining on the street of Akrokerri, as nobody dare to stop this menace, meanwhile the president has laid down measures to have curbed such occurrence.
I know very well that there might be many people internally and externally involved in this act who end up fighting the president who desires to achieve something good from the fight.
This must be stop now, if not one-day we will wakeup and find out that those galamsey pits collapse on the residents of the community.
