NDC Loses Northern Regional Chairman

The opposition National Democratic Congress has been thrown into a state of mourning following news of the death of Alhaji Abdulai Ibrahim Mobila, Northern Regional Chairman of the Party.

Confirming the sad news, the regional secretary of the Party, Mohammed Abdul Salam said in a Statement shared on various social media platforms that the Chairman's death occured this afternoon at Intensive Care Unit of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

Preparations are already underway for burial to take place and in accordance with islamic tradition at the Tamale Central Cemetery.

The late Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila, who is also Chief of Tugu Yepalsi, a community in the Tamale South Constituency has been serving as chairperson of the NDC for three years and was preparing to recontest his position before sickness struck which eventually led to his death.

News of his death was rife this week but was debunked by family sources leading to media houses in the North retracting and apologising to his family.
