Thank You For Telling Me In The Face That I Am Senseless

The Member of Parliament for the Tamale North, Honorable Alhassan Suhuyini, made a statement that the Nhyiaeso MP, Honorable Stephen Amoah translated as an insult. In an attempt to explain why the minority caucus is trying their maximum best for the e-levy not to be passed, Honorable Alhassan Suhuyini dropped this proverb in one of the Northern dialects.

"My people in Tamale will say that when you find someone pounding fufu with poison in his armpit, it is because he either pounded the fufu and then he did not get some to eat".

Stephen Amoah interpreted the proverb to mean that the NDC MPs do not want the e-levy to be passed because the NDC MPs know they will not benefit from it.

Alhassan Suhuyini responded, "They say that proverbs are understood by people with wisdom".

"You want to insult me. Thank you for telling me that I am not wise and I am senseless.", Stephen Amoah angrily responded.
