The Member of Parliament for Yendi, Farouk Aliu Mahama, has moved to quickly dispel rumours that his mother and Former Second Lady, Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama, is dead. Reports emanating this evening and spread on various Social Media platforms suggested that the widow of the late former Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, had passed following a short illness but her lawmaker son in a statement published on his Facebook page asked the public to disregard the rumours which he described as unfortunate. Hon. Mahama said his mother who will turn 70 next month was alive and healthy.

I have taken note of an unfortunate rumour making the rounds about my mom, the Former Second Lady, H.E Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama( neè Egala). My mom is alive. We should leave matters of death and health in the hands of the Almighty Allah. Members of the public should please disregard the reports.
