The mass media is regarded as the fourth arm of government. It is the primary means of communication used to reach the vast majority of the general public. The most common platforms for mass media are newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and the Internet. On the television and radio, journalist and presenters are responsible for disseminating information. There are different categories of journalist. Political journalist is one of such categories. They act as watchdogs against unfavorable government policies. In Ghana, there are certain political journalists who are regarded as controversial based on their activities and talks. 1.Afia Pokuaa (Vhim Lady)
She is one of the famous jornalist who is known for her outspoken nature. She is a Ghanaian media personality and the Head of Programs at the Despite Media Group, operating Peace FM, Okay FM, Neat FM and Hello FM in Kumasi. She is the former editor of Adom FM. Currently, Afia Pokuaa is the host of Egyaso Gyaso, a popular news analysis program aired on Okay FM Mondays and Fridays between 7pm and 9:30pm. She also co-hosts UTV's morning show, Adekye Nsroma.
He is a fearless broadcaster Journalist Salifu Maase popularly known by most people as Mugabe Maase of Power FM 97.9 in Accra. He is one of the few journalists who confront and have clashes with powerful politicians such as Kennedy Agyapong, Chairman Wontumi etc. He is a card bearing NDC member.
3.Paul Adom- Otchere
Mr. Paul Adom-Otchere is a seasoned journalist in Ghana. He has worked in both TV and radio over the last 20 years covering all major events in Ghana as well as events that occur abroad but related to Ghana. He has had a stint with the BBC covering the UK election in 2001 for the African Service. He is currently the host of the popular 'Good Evening Ghana' show.
4. Captain Smart
Captain Smart is a popular household name in Ghana. He is a respected radio personality who has successfully made a name for himself in the entertainment arena. He joined Adom FM in 2013 and called it quits in 2019. He is talented with verbal prowess, which has always given him a head start in his successful career.He is currently with Angel FM.
Kevin Taylor is a broadcast journalist in Ghana with extensive experience in radio and television broadcasting. In 2012, he founded Loud Silence Media in Accra. He is an NDC journalist criticizes all the policies of the governing NPP policies and defends Mahama all times.
He is the host of the political show, THE SEAT. He is one of the few journalist who literally has the self esteemed Hon. Kennedy Agyapong to himself for the show every time. He helped the MP for Assin Central to expose the fake pastors.
