Ken Ofori Atta Breaks Ghanaians heart with another Press Conference on The E-levy

Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta has stated in a press conference that the e-levy still remains the same.

Not long ago the Deputy Majority leader in parliament, Alexander Afenyo Markin said on Accra based Joy Fm that the e-levy had been reduced to 1.5%

   The MP said

“For nothing at all when it comes to the bill, we know that government has shifted from 1.75 to 1.5,”

But Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta has stated in a press conference that it hasn’t been reduced

He stated:

“On the matter of the E-levy, having regard to its serious fiscal implications, we will continue our consultations with the Minority Caucus in Parliament and other relevant stakeholders, with a view to achieving consensus and reverting to the House in the shortest possible time,” he said.

This has really broken the heart of many Ghanaians as people were a little relieved at the prospect that there will be a reduction in the e-levy.
