The Minister of Communication and the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Constituency Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has declared that there is nobody in Ghana who is currently Championing press freedom better than President Akufo Addo.
She made this statement in an interview with the host of 'Spotlight' Noung Faalong on MX24 television when she unpacked the issue of press freedom in Ghana.
According to her, Ghana is in an era where you can't have it better to practice journalism in the country, although there is room for improvement.
"let anybody challenge me if that, that we have a foremost person Championing press freedom better than the president, let him raise his hand and stand up.
I don't think that individual exists in our Ghana of today, but it may be fashionable for whatever reasons to tag him as an intolerant person.
Then they don't know the person they are talking about. They don't know the man Akufo Addo at all." - she said
She added that she challenges anyone to look dispassionately at Ghana's history and conclude that this is the worst time in history to be a journalist in Ghana.
