U/W: Residents of Tampieni Drinking from Streams

Community Residents of Tampieni in the Wa Municipality of Upper West Region have bemoaned the absence of portable water in their community.

According to some family heads, they admitted the challenge has been there for a longtime as several politicians have promised to address the issue all to no avail.

They added that a water project that was started in the community has been abandoned as school children who go to school stay learning for hours without access to drinking water. Assembly Member for the Area, Mr. Sori-nye Francis Admitted the development is challenge to the community, he admitted writing to some Non Profit Organizations to seek for assistance last year 2020 but due to covid-19 and election related issues, they couldn't intervene.

They called for the Wa Municipal Assembly Headed by Mr. Issahaku Tahiru Moomin and other philanthropists to come to their Aid as they are exposed to water borne diseases such as cholera.
