Outspoken media broadcaster and self acclaimed youth activist and anti-corruption campaigner, Captain Smart has taken his fight for stability and zero corruption to another level. The firebrand journalist has issued a strong warning to Ghanaian leaders over their recent attitude towards the people of Ghana.
Speaking on the new episode of the Maakye show this morning, Captain Smart has registered his displeasure over the attention given to political parties rather than the progress of the country. He indicated that has become a new normal for Ghanaian politicians to serve their parties than the country they were elected to represent. Explaining the rate behind his comment, he revealed that such attitudes of leaders cause rebellion, which can subsequently plunge the nation into chaos.
According to Captain Smart, it is an act of irresponsibility for leaders to substitute country for political party. He has called on the government to place the interests of the citizens at heart if they do not want to see violence. He indicated that failure to serve and deliver the promises they made during the election can agitate the youth to rebel.
Captain Smart further stated that Ghana has long been ridiculed by the international community because of our mismanagement on part of the leaders. He described his comment as a wake up call to leaders especially the ruling NPP government to step up their governance or face criticisms, rebel and mass revolt from Ghanaian youths.
He said, "Change because when it is long denied, violence breaks out here and there. It is not that men planned it but their accumulated grievances caused it. There are clear signs looking at other countries and Ghana is not ready for such cases. We cannot progress on the part where you serve your parties than the country. That is embarrassing and shameful."
