On Monday, 7th December, 2020 the good people of Ghana successfully went to the polls to elect individuals who are going to be at the helm of affairs in the country for the next four years.
Even though there were other 10 Presidential candidates in the race, this year's election as usual was keenly contested by the two major political parties in the country. Erstwhile President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) and H.E President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party.
48 hours later, after the Electoral Commission left the entire country sitting on tenterhooks, on Wednesday, 9th December, 2020, the Returning Officer of the Commission who is in the person of Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa declared the Presidential results in the conference hall at the Commission's Headquarters.
Following President Nana Addo Dankwa's win in the 2020 Presidential election, on Friday,11th December, 2020, the President elect, the Veep H.E Mahamudu Bawumia, Second Lady Samira Bawumia and the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu were at the Abossey Okai Central Mosque to thank Almighty Allah for seeing Ghana through this year's General Elections peacefully and for victory granted unto the New Patriotic Party(NPP).
