NPP ready to grab Ashanti NDC parliamentary seats

The ruling NPP is battle ready to wrestle the only 3 seats it's rival NDC has in their strong hold region, the Ashanti region.

The opposition NDC has maintained some few parliamentary seats in the Ashanti region since the inception of the 4th republic, most notably is the Asawasi constituency, which has never fallen to NPP, however the elephant party is leaving no stone unturned come December 7 to snatch the seat from NDC which is currently being occupied by Hon Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka ,who is also the minority chief whip in parliament. In the last election of 2016, the contest was close,as the candidate for NPP in the person of Hon Alhaji Alidu Seidu gave the incumbent MP a chase for his money. The upcoming election is another opportunity for the Asokore Municipal chief executive to wrestle the parliamentary seat from his opponent, especially this time ,when he has amply demonstrated his leadership and developmental projects in the constituency for the electorates to see.The NDC must be also having a counter strategy as it is aware the seat it has always occupied will not be won easily as it used to be,with seeming agitations and acrimonies in the rank and file of the party in Asawasi during the primaries to elect thier candidate for the seat for December 7 elections ,the appearance of a Masawudu Mubarak to challenge Muntaka and how the subsequent handling of issues, is another dynamics that could be a decider for the seat been snatched away from them.

Elsewhere, the Ejura -Sekyeredumase , is another seat been held by NDC which the NPP is eyeing to grab .The NPP as part of its strategic planning, held one of their annual regional delegates conference in 2018, at Ejura to send a clear signal that it is ever ready to take back the Ejura seat which is currently been occupied by Muhammed Bawa Braimah of NDC.

The Ejura -Sekyeredumase seat has been one of the stronghold of NDC as it is a unique constituency which composed of an indigenous and settler communities who have deep rooted support for the NDC.

The remaining constituency for the NDC that looks shaky and likely to fall for NPP is the Sekyere Afram Plains which is being held by Hon. Alex Adomako Mensah Sekyere Afram Plains is a typical farming community,if it is going to be anything good for NPP, then ,the policy of planting for food and Jobs has been embraced here and it will weigh to the advantage of NPP against the incumbent NDC.

The NDC looks shaky and NPP appears attractive and juicy to the electorates in the region, especially the 3 NDC occupied seats in Ashanti, massive developmental projects are ongoing leading to the December 7 elections to woo voters who are mostly NDC voters.

The opposition NDC has equally, has its counter plans to neutralise the strategies of NPP to unseat its Ashanti seats.
