President Akufo Addo's visit to the Ashanti Region has brought up a lot of issues about the 2024 upcoming elections. All these matters that are rising at the moment in the country pertaining to the candidates for the 2024 election is as a result of the comments Akufo Addo made when introducing his entourage to the King of the Ashanti Land, Otumfuo Osei TuTu II.
The President hilariously and jovially mentioned that the Minister of Trade and Industry Hon Alan Kyeremanteng and the Minister of Food and Agriculture Hon Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto are are interested in becoming Presidents of the Republic of Ghana.
Alang Kyeremanteng and Bawumia
Owusu Afriyie Akoto
These comments made by President Akufo Addo has got a lot of Ghanaians talking, even to the extent that some have the opinion that the President supports those he introduced to Otumfuo Osei TuTu II during his tour.
But those who with a very neutral perspective thinks that the President did what he did just to make fun and he did it very well.
All these things that went on during the fist day of his visit to the Asante King's Palace says a lot of things to the biggest opposition Party NDC in the country and they should take it very serious. Besides they might never have thought that the New Patriotic Party (NPPs) would come out with all these people so as to select the best to face them.
The NPP bringing the best together in order to select the very best to face them in 2024 might put them in very tight corner. The NDC party and their executives should be very well prepared because the battle ahead is a very difficult one.
Aside the Alan Kyeremanteng and the vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto can also be said to be in the race to fight for the highest seat in Ghana.
