The President of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo commissioned the National Mosque of Ghana Complex for the Muslim Ummah yesterday. The National Mosque of Ghana Complex which is located in Kanda, Accra is said to be the second largest in West Africa. The construction of the edifice was funded by the Turkish government.
Ghanaians reacted to the activity undertaken by the President when TV3 posted the news on its Facebook page. Some account users questioned whether the president would claim he built this edifice too after commissioning the Pokuase Interchange. One account user wrote, " Is he the one who built it? The land was given by Rawlings and the Turkish government funded its construction so how come the joke? "
Another account user wrote that the National Chief Imam should have done the commissioning of the edifice with another labelling the President as "Mr. Commissioner". Some account users also reacted that credit should be given to the Turkish government for providing the funds for the completion of the project and not to the current government.
