Political rivals on the outside, but family on the inside. Mahama console Bawumia

"You shall not press down upon the brow of labor this crown of thorns. You shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold." William Jennings Bryan in 1896.

This political phrase tells us indeed they are rivals but brothers within.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has contacted Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to express his condolences over his mother's death.

Hajia Mariama Bawumia, the Vice President's mother, died on Monday morning in Accra.

On Tuesday, September 14, she was buried at Walewale, in the North-East Region, according to Islamic rites.

Condolence messages are pouring in for Dr. Bawumia.

On Monday, Mr Mahama, the Vice President's only living predecessor, posted on Twitter and his Facebook page that he had called to console the entire Bawumia family

“I just got off the phone with my brother, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to console him and the entire family on the loss of their mother, Hajia Mariama Bawumia earlier this morning.

“May Allah grant her a peaceful rest,” ex-president John Dramani Mahama has shared on his Facebook wall.
