The Communication member of NPP speaking on Metro TV good morning Ghana show today, Friday, 18th June, 2021 stated that why should finance minister refused to answer urgent questions filed by Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa yesterday in parliament when he knew that it is the urgent issue Ghanaians want to know about.
He said Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is seeking clarification for Ghanaians so that they will not be confused about what NDC is trying to put out there and register his displeasure against him.
Nana Akomea said he does not like what happened yesterday about the finance minister "running away" comment because NDC people has speculate that the president of Ghana is wasting tax payers money, and Ghanaians are not happy with the statement and want clarification from Government, so why should he refused to tackle that question first?
He stated that his actions will create an impression in Ghanaians mind that Government is trying to "shield" the issue and it could give a score point to NDC in the country ahead of election.
He said if Ken Offori Atta did not challenged the urgent question to clarify things, then it means it is not in the interest of the Government and Ghanaians will believe what Okudzeto Ablakwa and NDC is saying.
He said "NDC has raised allegations into the public domain so the more you delay to respond to the matter, the more people believe what NDC said.
In this parliament, there is a speaker who is not on the side of the Government and although there maybe some good reasons why he did not respond to the urgent questions. But we all know the speaker is though and he can order you to parliament at anytime and even let you face some punishment.
This is strange and it will affect us".
