Richard Owusu popularly known as Asonaba Kofi Osei a media personnel with Asante Akyem Agogo based Salt 95.9 FM has reportedly been assaulted by some knoen thugs affilated to the ruling NPP and also sympathisers of Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi, NPP MP for Asante Akyem North.
The reporter has been admitted at the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital and a case has been lodged with the Police for investigation to commerce.
It is unclear what caused the violence against the journalist as the CEO, Mr Ohene Kwame Frimpong and his management are currently at the hospital with the victim as he fights for his dear life.
However, grapevine sources close to the scene have informed us this could be a result of a long-standing bitter rivalry between two NPP camps, that is members of Hon. Kojo Baah Agyemang against Hon. lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi. The two NPP bigwigs have been at loggerheads over NPP MP seat in the constituency. Our sources' suspicion is that, the poor journalist was brutalised as a result of that internal party wrangling within the NPP camps in the area.
