He has alleged that after spending a whooping sum of 2 billion old Ghana cedis (Ghc 2 millon ) on the delegates to seek reelection of his post, the same delegates now turn out to brand him as a greedy politician.
The allegations were said to have emanated when he was defeated in the recent regional delegates elections of the Npp, he said.
Yes l spent more than Ghc 2 million cedis on campaign towards the NPP regional elections and l still lost the seat to my contender, the Npp stalwart alleged.
Speaking with Roy Gyataba on Solid 103.7 FM in Kumasi morning show, Alhaji Mustapha Govier said before the elections, some leaders and elders of the New Patriotic Party allegedly supported him with much money to pursue his political agenda, particularly on his re-election.
But he was unfortunately voted out at the end of the contest.
The monies l spent during the regional elections was close to 2 billion old Ghana cedis but it was not from my personal coffers, Alhaji told his listerners.
He reiterated that those people who are levelling allegations that Alhaji has properties and is greedy are the same people who comes to my house on daily basis to take their breakfast after my defeat.
But he made it clear that before the Npp was in opposition he was owning properties including cars and houses as it is known to his accusers.
Alhaji Mustapha Govier said he has earlier refuted number of allegations levelled against him in the up North following his election defeat and find it appropriate to also set the records straight in the Ashanti Region.
Despite my defeat l still hold Npp in high esteem and no amount of allegations can discourage me from leaving out from the party, the former Organiser hinted.
