Akufo-Addo Is Nothing Like Rawlings But They Both Share Ideology Of Willingness To Use Violence

Fixthecountry Conveynor Oliver Barker-Vormawor has asserted that the current president Akufo-Addo and late President Jerry John Rawlings have different ideology but they both share the same distaste for dissent and a willingness to use violence at will.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, 11th July 2022, he wrote;

"The problem with Jerry Rawlings was not that he was wrong to believe in a more equitable society. The problem with him was that he was a military man who was surrounded by others equally accustomed to the ways of the undisciplined military that raised them. They knew little about how to pursue their goals through a true people-driven democracy."

Oliver added that because they were military men; they were guided by their belief in the power of the gun and as such there were so many excesses and unnecessary deaths.

"In many ways, I can see why Rawlings and Akufo-Addo became such close friends. Akufo-Addo is nothing like Rawlings in ideology. But they both share the same distaste for dissent and a willingness to use violence at will." Oliver Baker added.

They are both unable to accept the better arguments of their adversaries and so they weaponized the law and the police force to crush dissent!

Oliver advised that for our calls for a new Ghana to succeed, we must appeal to reason and the better appeal of results to show people that a more empathetic Ghana is and has always been possible. We must be democrats not only in rhetoric but also in deed.
