Immigration Boss sued Johnnie Hughes and charge him GH¢20m

A Media Journalist Johnny Hughes has been sued together with Media General and TV3 Network Limited by the Ghana Immigration Boss, Kwame Asuah Takyi for fabricating lies on him and tarnishing his reputation to the good people of Ghana and beyond.

The Controller General to the GIS, Takyi, in his statement said the media journalist Johnnie Hughes levelled certain allegations against him of which he knew nothing about. And for such reason his reputation has been soiled and his integrity and credibility in the office he is holding as Controller General is at stake which prompted him to sue the Media General, TV3 Network Limited and Johnnie Hughes to retract the fallacy of which they have fabricated on him during the TV3 morning show 'Johnnies Bite'.

According to his writ the Defendant are to appear in the Accra High Court eight days after the service of the writ including the day of service. Failure to comply will mean any judgement made against the Defendant maybe in the absence of the defendants without any notice.

Takyi is therefore pleading the court to command the Defendant to retract and delete all those false statements made against him in all their Media platforms and still charge them GH¢20m as compensation fee.

According to the reactions from the public on this story the GIS Boss, Kwame Asuah Takyi has not been fair for what he did because they are of the view that those who are due retirement age should go and let the young ones come instead of occupying an office of which you could not serve properly anymore. Majority of Ghanaians are of the view that the case should be thrown out as useless case since Johnnie Hughes is believed to be doing the right thing.

The court will decide whether to grant Takyi his demands or throw his case out when due processes are followed.
