Food and Drugs Authority of Ghana calls on local herbal medicine manufacturers to strictly adhere to all the manufacturing practises which has been provided to them. The safety of our people in our own hands therefore it very important for us to ensure that every manufacturing process is safe and sound for the consuption of the public.
Mr.s Anita Owusu Afriyie of the Foods and drug Authority in an interview with Adom TV news said that, the guidelines for safe manufacturing processes are done by the World Health Organisation and they are expected to ensure strict adherence to this protocols. They therefore organised a meeting between the Food and Drugs Authority and the Local herbal medicine manufacturers admonishing them to ensure safety and adherence to good manufacturing practises.
Dr Solomon Appiah Kubi, the head of the herbal medicine manufacturers association stated in an interview with Nana Awuku Denkyembour, a reporter of Adom news that the government should tell Ghanaian locals that the herbal medicine is good and should also be patronised.
Dr Solomon also called on the president of Ghana Nana Akuffo Addo to create an enabling environment for the operation of local medicine producers.
