Just in: '245 Ghanaian Deportees will be allowed into the Country' — Information Minister.

The information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said all 245 deported Ghanaian from Kuwait will be given entrance into the country despite the border closure directive from government.

According to the Info Minister, the 245 people, will arrive in the country on Saturday, May 23, 2020, however all of them will be mandatory quarantined for COVID-19 for 14 days before being discharged this is to check and contain any spread of Covid-19 cases.

The decision to allow this exception to the 245 was reached by Cabinet to allow the deportees into the country Kojo Oppong Nkrumah stated at a press conference held in Accra. In his address, He indicated that due to the closure of the border, a special flight arrangement has been made to bring these Ghanaians back home. cost of the transportation will be taken care of by the Kuwaiti government.

He added that the government has not ignored other Ghanaians stranded in other countries. Government is in the process of collating data on other Ghanaians stranded in the United States of America and other countries to bring them home.
