The Ashanti Region is not the strong hold of the National Democratic Congress, but the youth representing them are not pleased with what happened sometime ago.
They claim the former president neglected their region to the extent of selecting on Minister who was later sacked painfully. They said he chose 5 cabinet Ministers from Central Region, 5 from Eastern and 3 from Tamale Metropolis, and he neglected the biggest region in Ghana which is the Ashanti Region.
The Former President is set to extend his thank you tour to the Ashanti Region on the Monday, 13th of September, and he has been clashed with this press release.
The press statement was signed by Kweku Asare Mensah, a convener of the group, he claims they need a new leader to contest for the 2024 general election, but not Former President John Dramani Mahama, they are requesting the executives of the party to do their wish or else they might lose their votes.
