
Converner of the Fixing The Country Movement, Ernest Owusu Bempah is calling for investigations and possible removal of the Speaker of Parliament, Right Honorable Alban Gbabin from office.
In a press release signed by the converner of the group, the group stated that, the claims of Parliamentary privilege as Speaker of Parliament is an attempt to engage in what he described as "Constitutional Coup d, etat with connivance of the Minority Caucus.
The statement further explained that, this was manifested during the passage of the 2022 Budget statement which is an affront to due process.
The release also stated that, the Speaker violated Article 104 of the Constitution and Order 109 of the standing orders of Parliament.
He also accused the Speaker for his departure from conventions and laid down due process which must be a worry of concern to all Ghanaians.
He is also of the view that, in other jurisdiction, Speakers of the Legislature are not allowed to engage in such acts and Ghana must emulate such Countries.
