Kennedy Agyapong is a household name in the political system of Ghana. He is renowned as one of the most hard-working, honest, and straightforward politicians in the country. As one of the experienced legislators in the country, Kennedy Agyapong has brought lots of improvement in the life of his constituents and Parliament as well. The self-acclaimed richest politician in Ghana is a very influential figure in his party, as he plays a key in the success of the party.
Not long ago the Assin North representative in Parliament declared his intention not to contest for the parliamentary seat again. He said this while addressing a group of party faithfuls in an annual delegates conference held in Assin-Foso. "Even if I'm given 1,000 cows, I will not go back because I want the people to know I am fighting for their well-being and not myself as an MP" he stated.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong has hinted that he will consider running for the presidency if Ghanaians call for it. The Assin North legislator admitted in an interview in the United States that one doesn't necessarily have to be the president to impact the lives of the people, since he has already been helping people in Ghana despite not being the president. "I have a personal belief that you don't have to be the president to effect change in people's life. I am not the president but you can see the things I am doing to help Ghanaians", he said in the interview.
He added that he will only consider contesting for the presidency if Ghanaians see him capable and desire he lead them. "This alone is enough but if a time comes that Ghanaians feel that you can lead and make a change, I will give myself some time and consider. I don't want to rush", he added.
Do you think Kennedy Agyapong has what it takes to lead the country?
