Last week there was a dialogue series to help in the fight against galamsey. It can be recalled that President Akufo-Addo promised in his first term to bring galamsey to a stop. He even promised to put his presidency on the line. However, this hasn’t materialized.
Many have said that the president is unable to fight because his own men are deep rooted in the illegal mining. Today, Monday, April 19, 2021, on the Angel ‘Anopa Bofoo’ show, Captain Smart went hard on the president and the minster for lands. He noted that he was ready to assist them to stop illegal mining if only they were ready.
“You are a young man and I respect you. Samuel Jinapor, I admire you a lot. I am ready to assist you. I am ready to support you with everything I have. I have met you twice, both at ‘Meet the Press’ series. If we are not careful, this will worry. Today our children are suffering from eye problems. It’s because of this galamsey.
Your Excellency, did you say you will not deal with hearsay? Did you say that? What happened to the missing excavators? Maybe someone has charmed him. The Nana Addo I knew is not the same now. He has changed. If you are not careful your party people will disgrace you. Most of the things you hear about galamsey are not hearsay.
Nana Addo, let me look into your eyes and tell you the plain truth. I will tell you the truth. You have lost the galamsey fight. You have failed. I’ll give you 6/110 in scores” Captain Smart said.
Do you agree with Captain Smart? How is the fight against galamsey going? What score will you give to Akufo-Addo on his fight against galamsey?
