Ashanti Regional NPP Chairmanship Race, Wontumi To Lose?

The clock is ticking as the elections to elect regional executives of NPP is getting closer. The chairmanship race in the Ashanti region is one of the most notable ones

Views are indicating that the grounds are not favourable for the incumbent chairman, Bernard Antwi Bosiako popularly known as chairman Wontumi. Can he defy the odds?

The Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party chairmanship race which is slated on 27th to 29th May, 2022 is raising eyebrows among Ghanaians and NPP faithfuls, looking at the tough battle among the 4 astute politicians who are all brimming with confidence to sit on the hot seat as chairman for the stronghold of the NPP

As to whether the party could break the eight years against the wounded lions, Former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC who is returning strongly and unwaveringly in 2024 behoves on the Chairmanship position which is a greater factor for the NPP

The incumbent Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi has filled the nomination form along with his contenders Odeneho Kwaku Appiah known famously as COKA, the incoming Chairman whom Ghanaians are contemplating to carry the day to unseat the boisterous Media House, business mogul and a maverick politician Bernard Antwi Boasiako.

Within the camp of the ambitious Bernard Antwi Boasiako, it is clearly evidential looking at the signs and wonders from the sight of the fierce rivalry from his strongest opposition Odeneho Kwaku Appiah COKA, the stiff competitor who possess a serious threat to Wontumi in the battle ahead.

The kind of support from party supporters and how keenly they are embracing the incoming chairmain Odeneho with regard to his calibre, his educational background, as business tycoon in haulage, construction, Private business man within the Longford Royal Group who is also a Board of Director at the Electricity Company of Ghana and his longstanding service to the incumbent New Patriotic Party places him above Chairman Wontumi.

The development of the Ashanti Region has not all that been felt under the watch of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, Chairman Wontumi who remains one of the richest billionaires in the country with regard to the bid he brought before the ownership of English topflight Chelsea, the Blues.

He has only contributed to the NPP by using his media house Wontumi Movement Television, Wontumi radio as the yardstick to support the party on crucial issues and discussions to uplifted the party's image over the past years but on the side of development, the region has been left behind causing some residents in the region to turn their back on him.

The rest of the party's bigwig aspirants for the chairmanship race include former Ejisu Constituency MP, Honourable Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, the six times Constituency Chairman for Asokwa Asare Bediako and lastly, Oheneba Adum-Bawuah.

Despite the number of aspirants going into this competition, the climax of the story shall revolve around Chairman Wontumi and incoming Chairman Odeneho, one of the two contenders to win the race but if any surprise could exist in the pinnacle of this race, count on the new guy in town within the NPP Odeneho Kwaku Appiah aka COKA

Lets keep our fingers crossed and ascertain from the voice of the delegates in the realm of democracy
