The Budget Has NOT Been Rejected. Ghanaians Should Disregard Any Claims - Majority

The majority caucus of parliament have said that the 2022 budget has not been rejected as claimed by some media houses and the national democratic Congress.

In a statement released and signed by the majority of parliament, the 2022 budget has not been rejected because they were not available to speak on the budget and parliament cannot reject anything until it had gotten at least 138 persons.

They therefore urged Ghanaians to reject and treat any news insinuating that the budget has been rejected. The majority caucus of parliament promised that parliament will sit on Tuesday to discuss the fate of the budget.

Meanwhile, last week the finance minister read the 2022 budget which had faced a lot of backlashes from Ghanaians following the introduction of severe taxes know as the E-levy. They E-levy will tax any mobile money transaction you perform.

Ghanaians have called on parliament to reject the budget because of the severity of the tax.

"Any decision that is taken by less than 138 people in chamber is void. Ghanaians should disregard the claims that the budget has been rejected. Parliament will consider the budget properly when it reconvene on Tuesday" part of the statement reads.
