The Ashanti Regional Minister has laid the matter of the political inclinations of the late Mohammed Ibrahim Kaaka otherwise known as ‘Kaaka Macho’, the young man who was murdered by some unidentified persons at Ejura in the Ashanti Region to rest.
The Regional Minister made this revelation speaking on the morning show of Accra-based Neat FM.
'In the year 2020 general elections, I campaigned vigorously with the late ‘Kaaka Macho’ at Ejura and I know the late ‘Kaaka’ very well as an NPP member in the Ejura district, he said.
He explained that the late ‘Kaaka’ is a bona fide member of the NPP and everybody in his household and in the Ejura area knows it.
'Nobody can claim that ‘Kaaka’ is a member of the promoters of the ‘Fix the Country’ campaign, a group of young men allegedly seeking that the country is fixed by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, he said.
He argued that 'Kaaka' has never been a member of the said group as may seek to be done by political opponents of the governing New Patriotic Party.
He cautioned elements in the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to desist from making a political meal out of the sad events at Ejura.
This is not a matter of politics but a breakdown of security in the area, he stressed.
He admitted ordering the military men who ended up shooting into a crowd of protesters killing two and injuring two persons after the burial of 'Kaaka' at Ejura last week.
'I ordered them to go to Ejura upon an intelligence report I received as the Head of the Regional Security (REGSEC) that there will be some mayhem during the burial of the late 'Kaaka' in the area.
