Following the assassination of legendary Ibrahim Kaaka Mohammed, there have been a lot of controversies and arguments regarding his true identity as an Activist within the Ghanaian Political and Media Spaces.
Some continue to argue that although his write ups and contents on social media were clearly in line with the goals and objectives of the #FixTheCountry Campaign Team, he was not a formally known member of the League.
Meanwhile, right after his demise, the Convenor of the Campaign released a public statement and emphatically indicated that late Kaaka was an active member of the team.
This letter we are talking about was even shared by TV3's Roland Walker on his Facebook page.
However, certain people are also of the view that Kaaka was a member of the National Democratic Congress (NPP). According to many Propagandists, Kaaka was murdered due to his strong activism works which were to a greater extent making the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Akufo-Addo-led Administration so unpopular.
Meanwhile, fresh evidence from an eyewitness in Ejura indicates that Kaaka was killed by his own brother.
Interestingly, there has been a new Twist surrounding his involvement in Ghanaian political prior to his sudden demise.
Simon Osei-Mensah who appeared before the Committee of Public Inquiry into the Ejura Killings, as an Ashanti Regional Minisiter, First Witness and Chairman of Regional Security boldly revealed that he worked with Kaaka during his campaign period. Per his revelation, his work with Kaaka was not on a single ocassion; it was developmental in context.
He added that, Ejura is a well-known community when it comes to involvement or participation in Ghanaian politics.
'It is one of the hotspots of elections in Ghana,' he said.
Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah further disclosed that since the area is mostly dominated by NDC electorates, most of NPP members also strive to intensify their campaign strategies during every electoral period. This then became so necessary to work with a vibrant Activist like Kaaka at during his time.
He statistically analyzed that ever since we began constitutional voting in Ghana, NPP has won Ejura election on a single (one) occasion.
