Mrs. Ophelia Hayford Storms Church; See What The Pastor Told Her And Her Campaign Team (Photos)

"It is good to seek for God's protection especially, as the election approaches. May God be with you Mrs. Ophelia Hayford. You'll surely win this seat," according to a social media user.

On October 9, 2020 the Hayford family and the whole nation were thrown into a state of shock after the sad news about the death of Honourable Ekow Quansah Hayford, the MP for Mfatseman constituency broke out. Many political figures and leaders reacted to his sudden demise and also expressed their deep condolences to the family of the deceased.

Few days after his death, there was so much brouhaha concerning the candidate to contest on behalf of the legislator. Some constituents of Mfatseman rooted for his wife to replace and contest the seat. A large section of the youths registered their intentions to scrap the parliamentary elections if the bereaved wife was not cleared to stand for elections.

The demands of the people were met and the NPP leadership finally settled on the wife of the late MP to contest for the seat that her husband held. They did this by invoking Section 13.4 of CI 127 and she also wrote to resign from her post as a police woman. Mrs Hayford had been a strong pillar in the political life of her late husband, and, certainly, her selection as his replacement can only be a step in the right direction.

Mrs. Ophelia Hayford officially resigned from her post as a police woman to run for the seat. She officially filed her nomination forms and has bagan her campaign to win more hearts and solicit for support ahead of the poll.

Information trickling in has it that the wife of the late Mfantseman Member of Parliament, Mrs. Ophelia Quansah Hayford paid a visit to a church in Mankessim on November 1, 2020.

This platform learnt through some reliable sources that it was all sorrows in the Baifikrom Church of Christ when the aspiring female NPP Parliamentary candidate for the Mfatseman seat and her campaign team visited them. It was a day for church visitation. Since Mrs. Ophelia is new to the game, it was a step in the right direction that she went to commit herself into the hands of the Lord.

Just one word from the pastor was enough to comfort Maa Ophelia. The pastor delivering the sermon said, "Allow them to despise, insult, malign and do whatever they want with your widowhood state, but know that, you have Jesus as your rock, because he is the husband of all widows."

Mrs. Ophelia and the entire campaign team was very much grateful to all the pastors and their congregation for their prayers and warm reception.
