Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase, Muntaka Mubarak has been booed by delegates at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency elections held over the weekend.
The booing ensued after the MP’s preferred candidate for the Chairmanship contest lost to one Faisal Dauda.
Mr Muntaka Mubarak is reported to have refused to shake hands with Faisal Dauda after the latter arrived at the election venue and went round greeting dignitaries which included the incumbent Chairman.
At the end of polls, Faisal Dauda won the Chairmanship, polling 946 votes to defeat Muntaka’s preferred candidate and incumbent, Musah Abubakar who polled 779 votes.

Some Constituents of Asawase say Muntaka Mubarak is stingy and feels entitled to the Asawase seat, vowing to replace him with one Masawudu Mubarik in the NDC’s next Parliamentary primaries.
The angry party delegates booed the MP loudly as he left the venue with the youth vowing to show him pepper next year when the party opens filing for Primaries.
